Have already tried to Google the description and asked librarians and they could not remember.
Trying to remember the title, probably for a child aged 3 to 6. Likely published 25-30 years ago. The plot is a baker builds a robot to drum up more business to his shop and it sings. The baker gets a huge boom of business and people demand the bread is made faster. He adds arms to the robot so its able to do more tasks at once. The robot "burns out" and other robots made afterward are efficient but don't sing. The baker learns quality was better than quantity. Can't remember the robot's name but it had a series of letters/numbers in it (similar to R2D2 but not Star Wars related and was probably a word and then a number like BREAD1).
If anyone knows this title or author please answer. (I appreciate humor and all but looking for real answers please). Thank you so much!
