Besides this was months ago when half the site was still written in Spanish and they weren't stealing donations from members! Anyway I ended up stepping down almost immediately (maybe 2 days later). He was reluctant to demote me, and asked me not to mention it in public (I'm assuming he hoped people wouldn't notice the random transitions that characterized their staff page in the future). There was a brief period where it looked like the place was going to succeed, but then they started begging for donations and he started lashing out at his current staff, resulting in most of them jumping ship.
Most of the people trying to keep the site afloat at the moment are either unaware of the full story, or are outcasts/banned members from P's/E who simply don't care.

I don't approve of the way the site has been run, and I haven't from the start. I was one of those given mod positions without indicating any interest (in my case, I hadn't even signed up on the site at the time, they made a new account for me). That's half the reason staff come and go... because most of them aren't committed to the site at all. Initially the staff was full of other prominent members in the lossless communities, which I believe was an attempt to add some legitimacy and buzz to the site. They've all jumped ship now though.
The codebase is outdated, and is riddled with spelling errors (the sysop and coder are both ESL, so I understand, but it still looks unprofessional).
There have also been some sketchy rumours regarding donations there, in addition to the fact that they're asking for (and have received) donations this early in the game, despite the site likely being hosted on someone's cheap seedbox.
tl;dr, it was a site that showed some promise but now I'm not really sure what will happen to the place. It's worth noting that the sysop has been banned across several music trackers for various reasons (not all of them benign), so I'd be careful getting too attached to the place.

register on a site = joining a tracker on your own via an invitation you *asked* for.
on the contrary, Geddy PMed loads of guys on IRC channels of certain trackers without their consent. Forged imaginary friendships and created accounts for 'em on his site. Thats how the first group of members (staffers and/or uploaders from other sites) joined N-M and were assigned VIP and/or uploader status. Thats how I *joined* NM.
Saw the site in spanish and checked the content out. That was enough for me to remove it off my bookmarks. Never visited it again after my first couple of minutes on it.
The only reason I bothered to log into the site with the login details Geddy pmed me, was coz of the fact that i saw him join a couple of well established trackers and gain trust of the staffers on those sites as well.
That doesnt leave a lot to be imagined.

It was deleted from the site database within a few hours. Geddy didn't know how to do it himself, he had to wait for his coder to arrive. From what I've been told most of the active members had a chance to read it before it was deleted, but I made the pastebin knowing it would make the rounds. This is the exact same message I sent to the members.
All the rumors and speculation posted in this thread are true. I was enlisted the same way that caaok was, by geddylee fabricating an imaginary friendship. I tried hard to make it work there, but it was impossible with that scam artist at the top of the food chain.
The site will be dead in short order. All the good uploaders are bailing. Geddy's own so-called self rips have been confirmed to be from other sources. Imagine, breaking the rules on your own site.
The guy is a liar, a cheat and a charleton, starting his own site just to make money. I wish I had the other pastebin link handy where he brags about the money he had taken in. Its been making the rounds. Hey, here it is. You'll get a kick out of this. He's planning on doing it all over again.

Meh, this just reinforces my view that the site was just a front for donations in the end.
As for him being a nice guy, yes he seems nice. Forging EAC logs, having someone donate $100 and banning them the next day, and being involved with someone who had the audacity to try and hack staff accounts at one of the largest music sites... I still remember him as the fellow who signed up on various trackers using E's full name as his user name since he "wanted to join so badly". Also, he claims the other staff who were demoted tried to "steal" his database, which is rather hilarious.
