One thing I do know from seeing it happen countless times:

No new and upcoming tracker in the current state of BT will survive from just word of mouth and exclusivity. Every niche has been saturated, and without a large, dedicated core userbase, there's almost no chance of survival.

If ya cant think of unique content to offer..ya might as well save up some cash you'd have otherwise spent on hosting + domain.

Now thats an advice for free.

As some of you may already know, there's new lossless site (aiming to compete with P and E), called Need-Music.
I joined it quite early and it looked fine from the beginning. Now I'm not too sure because of constant staff changes, bans, demotions and people complaining about things going wrong :pinch: I didn't see many changes content-wise, and that makes me curious.
No drama intended, however I'd be happy to hear unbiased opinions (FST folks deal rather good with it  ).
How do you think about this site? Will it survive as another HQ music community?
Thanks in advance.

I actually just requested my account deletion earlier today, we'll see how that goes :P
Now I'll have to double check to ensure my account is not on that site.I hope it got deleted when they lost their DB the first time.
I'd hate to come up on their member list as I passionately hate the idea of cashing in so blatantly on piracy, and would never associate with, or endorse any such activity.

Its a good thing that these critical bits came up in the open.

the rag doll favicon with pins in it was kindoff cool though,i downd a 1gb file and the speed was impressive too..sad it went down soon quickly..everyones blaming GL for it,they cant all be wrong,he proved too much over ambition, when he tried to get the big names in,though that doesnt mean shit to the userbase,he just went too quickly with the plan..i think

I had no idea all this was going on. But nowadays, I do my best to stay out of site politics. But I started wonder what was going on when I saw that geddy was banned from music trackers(which I still don't know what he did), and within like a week there were pm's from multiple staff members stepping down.

Too bad. I was actually hoping this site would succeed.

only time will tell, so i decided to wait and see from the side how things will go.. no reason for me to join fresh places unless they're on open signup and doing a kick-start :)

Honestly, the tracker doesn't offer anything new. I stuck around for a day or two, and never bothered checkin it up again. Coupled with instability among the staffers higher up the ladder, ya never know when the site DB might end up in the open.
these are just my opinions anyway.

wish geddy the very best with his site.

I'd agree, but I believe in better world
This tracker was doing very fine in terms of content (imagine 900 self-ripped uploads in only 2 months), as we can see it could go strong if taken good care of.

hope all the logs weren't edited in any way.

I had an account created for me with mod powers I didn't ask for, which should tell you something about the legitimacy of their staff selection. Never even snatched a torrent.

My original password was abcd1234 ^_^

Oh and the most lulzworthy part of that pastebin for me (aside from the money/oink crap which I'd already heard) was the whole gazelle transition thing, when I told him to use gazelle in the first place haha.

After what is going on in SqN,I decided to be at more established music sites(Waffles and What)
I wish them luck though.I ll try it in after 8-9 months,if it survives till then
Me=Collec0r:D
