need mp3 help on cricket SLVR

I bought my daughter a SLVR from cricket. It isn't a flashed phone. It came with no instructions on how to get music onto the MP3 player.

She is all over me to figure out how to get the music on it (teenagers!)

It didn't even come with a cord to connect it to the computer. I have a USB cord that will connect it from another device.

Any help is much appreciated.

umm no... if you can't take 20 seconRAB to look at the menus (where it is REALLY OBVIOUS) I refuse to give you instructions...

Ok I give in. To open the MP3 Player select Media from the main menu and choose MP3 PLAYER!

And I'll admit connecting VIA USB is not as obvious.. Go to the settings menu->connections->USB Mode-> USB Storage mode (whatever is not Modem mode)
you'll need to have a microsd card inserted and formatted(it comes formated don't worry about this) and it will show up as an external hard drive on the computer when connected.

if you bought it from a cricket store it came with a box and a book that says all this a lot nicer way than i just did... unless you did an insurance claim or warranty exchage (then you might have to ask for the book).. if you don't have the book or can't get one for free please go to HERE and read up!

the phone doesn't come with a microsd card does it?

i attach the phone via the USB cable and see it as a E:drive (removable disk).

I try to move mp3 files to it and won't let me.

when i double click on the e:drive on my laptop it says to insert a disk into the E:drive.

do i need to buy a microsd card in order to play mp3s on the SLVR?

i can't believe that i paid $179 for that phone and it doesn't even come with the micro sd card; i know if you bought one from cingular it comes with the micro sd card.

that is weak.

cingular also makes you sign a 2 year contract, 450 minutes for 39.99 a month, and internet is 19.99 a month for unlimited. thats not counting text, mms, or n/w calls.

179 for a phone and 25 for a microSD and 45 a month for a plan is going to be a hell of a lot cheaper than 2 years with cingular.

Despite me almost going off in how weak your response was. As mentioned by Isriam, With cingular your signing a contract, paying more for less, and then you get a MicroSD card. If you would have read the in-store documentation and then also looked at the accessories in-store you would have seen that a MicroSD card was not included with the hanRABet purchase price. And considering that you can get a 1GB card for 20.00 i really think that your whining here

a) does cingular even carry the SLVR right now? when they did it was still 149.99 on a two year with a $50 mail in making it 99.99 ( not that impressive since we've had promos on cricket making the final price on the phone 99.99 since it has been released)
b) the cingular version was itunes and locked to 100 songs maximum. the cricket one is limited only by the size of the card you purchase.

--You can get a SLVR manual as a PDF file from Motorola's website.
--Buy a MicroSD card. Install it under the phone's battery.
--While you're at it, get a Motorola USB stereo headphone adapter if it didn't come with one.
--Find the connections menu and put the phone in to USB Mass Storage mode.
--When you plug your phone in, it will see the MicroSD as a USB drive.
--Put your music directly onto the drive in the ROOT directory. DO NOT put your music in a folder/directory or subfolder/subdirectory.
--The music will show when you start the music player. If it has any erabedded album art, the album art will show when the song is selected/playing.

Good luck.

a) They actually recently dropped the L6. Previously to that it was on Prepaid only. They will probably replace it with some of Motorola's upcoming SLVR hanRABets.

B) True.
