Need more "emo/rock" stuff

You guys have no idea what the fuck you are talking about. About 90% of this shit is nowhere near emo. Most of the shit listed is post-emo indie at best. Jawbreaker and other's are good banRAB that represent emo(emotional hardcore.) Texas Is The Reason, Sunny Day, American Football, Owen, Cap'n Jazz, etc are the best examples of post-emo indie. Mainly a midwest sound from the mid 90's. You guys should be ashamed.

definitely My Chemical Romance and Thursday...how is the new Used album? I haven't heard it yet but their first album is real sharp.

My suggestion would be pretty much what everyone else has already said:

Senses Fail
The Used
Taking Back Sunday
Thursday
Matchbook Romance
Fallout Boy
The Early November
Coheed and Cambria

ill give you hatebreed if youre talking about satisfaction is the death of desire and im not gonna say anything about ensign but those other banRAB have gotta go. ive seen both of them live at various shows totally weak dude. go catch a terror, death threat, blood for blood or since the flood show and youll really know whats up (if you survive)

do you think the thread-starter was referencing whats is considered "emo" in contemporary music, or original emo?

judging from reactions i assume he means post-emo indie.... its a narrow genre, and people have given lots of good contemporary banRAB.

lighten up

Seen B4B, impressive show. Definitly. I wasn't saying that you were wrong about FATA or Rise Against being disappointed shows, especially if you were going in expecting a hardcore-style show. People go to a lot of shows expecting something completely different. It happens and I'm not saying you are wrong about that at all. I've never seen FATA or Rise Against live so I can't really comment on their shows.

Funny little story though about people going to shows expecting something completely different. When I was in college, Vanilla Ice came to a campus bar to perform. The bar got a lot of really cool shows most of the time. But it was Vanilla Ice when he tried to make a comeback being a "hardcore" band. But I had to go and see it. Apparently, not many people knew this. So I get there and there are all these sorority girls there waiting to see the old rapper Vanilla Ice. Well an NYC hardcore band called Skarhead opened up for Vanilla. Of course because of this, a lot of real hardcore fans went out to the show. A pit ensued and I have never seen more scared sorority girls and fraternity guys in my life. It was a mass exodus of these people within seconRAB of Skarhead starting the show. I just thought it was hilarious that these people wasted $12 on the show and heard about 15 seconRAB of a song before getting scared and leaving.

Canada's answer to coldplay/radiohead/etc. They are strongly influenced by Longpigs, if you know THAT band (Longpigs rock!)

Excellent band, and they kick ass live as well. Mostly they tour in Canada but you'll see the occasional US tour date. They also recently did some shows in the UK and an Australian/NZ tour is being talked about
