Need Mac Time Capsule & Verizon FiOS Help ASAP!!!?

So we've had FiOS for a year now. In that ENTIRE time we have been unable to use our Time Capsule & airport expresses. Comcast used modem so there were no probs. But Verizon needs a router b/c of the tv guides & dumb widgets. So, since our expresses don't work, my parents have not been able to get a wireless signal in their bedroom since July 2009 (Verizons solution was to come out and install a wire from the ONT directly to their computer)!!!
Our signal has also never been really fast. The 3G on my iPhone is only slightly slower (that's how I'm writing this now).

So I have a 2 part question.
1, how on earth can I get their router to back off & let my 1TB time capsule be the router like it's supposed to so that our whole house can have wireless Internet again AND so that we can back up our computers for the first time in a YEAR????
2. Where could the ONT be if not outside? We don't have any boxes outside but Verizons website states that's where it is. I need to try to reset the ONT b/c we currently do not have a signal.
Info in case u need it. We are an all Mac household. 3 iMacs 1 MacBook pro, 4 iPhone. No firewalls or virus software being used since not needed so I know those things aren't affecting the connection. I have unplugged & done a factory reset on router - still no connection. In the past, Verizon has come out to troubleshoot our connection 11 times. They always claim our download speeds are fine but our upload has always been terrible (1k - 2mb/sec) and they've never fixed it. The have replaced our router twice.

I'm just getting so sick of this. My parents won't go back to Comcast but expect me to fix this b/c they don't do tech stuff.
I've literally spent hundreds of hours searching Apple & Verizons tech support & on the phone with verizon with no answers. Can't lose the router b/c of the stupid tv guides & phone.

I need a Mac tech person but they don't have any trained at verizon and (I'm sure there are some at the support center but) it's the luck of the draw who you get on the phone.

So if you're a Mac & verizon or wireless router genius, please help. I consider myself much above average on anything Mac related (quite genius actually) EXCEPT when it comes to router & wireless jargon and settings.

Much thanks in advance!!!! And thank you for taking the time to read this

Ps- I had to type this letter by letter on my iPhone for 3G. Yahoo answers is buggy. I can't see what I'm typing & it's trying to post this twice (1 on top of the other). If I wasn't able to fix it - sorry.
Got the Internet working again - yay! Just need the apple help now. Thx!!!
Yes. I tried everything but couldn't get it to connect. It kept creating diff networks
Not using their router is not an option. If I don't use their router:

1. I have no way to convert the coax cable to ethernet.

2. Our TV guides and telephone would stop working.

I've already asked them for a dedicated ethernet line and they said a house can't have both a coax connection and an ethernet connection. I feel this is the only solution but I'm hoping people here have a better idea. Thanks for trying though!
