I'm under my parents family plan with the unlimited texting plan attached to it. And I currently want to replace my current phone with an Iphone 3g.
I have a friend that can when I buy a used Iphone can remove the data plan so I don't have to pay the additional extra 30 since I'm in college and the only thing my parents do is pay for my phone so I don't want to bug them with that. Yes, I do know that if I remove the data plan I won't be able to access the 3g internet, but I know that I can connect to wifi and that's honestly all that I need.
So leading to my question, I heard that the Iphone 3g charges extra for the texting because it doesn't come with the data plan which i'm removing so either way it's irrelevant. I was just wondering if I get an Iphone 3g, remove the data plan and just using wifi as my internet to avoid the extra 30 bucks, can I still get unlimited texting off the family plan without bothering my parents with extra charges onto the ATT Bill?
