need help with security

Let me first say that this is my first Android based phone. I have had iPhones since their introduction. Needless to say I am free now!!!!!!. I do however need help on security. My scenario is I usually carry a cell phone, a digital camera and a thumb drive with my company info around on a daily basis. With the evo I can do away with the camera and the thumb drive, but my thumb drive has the Sandisk U3 security with a password, which helps. I need to know how or if I can setup the phone(microsd) to need a password when I plug into a PC as a disk drive?
On another note I have setup a password to get into the phone but I am curious if the passlock works like the iPhone and after several attempts it locks the phone and you have to reset to factory default. If I lose the phone or someone steals it I would like to know the info is safe (safe as it can be). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you use the pattern lock on your phone (it's in the security settings) then nobody will be able to mount your SD card and access your files without knowing the pattern lock code.

However, there is nothing to stop, and no way to stop, someone removing the SD card and accessing it using a standard USB card reader. Just be careful what you put on the SD card. Most personal data and information is stored on the phone's internal storage.

For your other security concerns (remote wiping, remote tracking, etc) look for WaveSecure https://www.wavesecure.com/
