Need help with Samsung S3500 with prepaid connection?

I'm using a Samsung S3500 with a prepaid connection. Every time I make a call or send a text message, the phone beeps loudly when it shows the remaining balance. This is true even if I still have free minutes and the call/text doesn't reduce the balance. Any way to shut this?
