Need help with riddle!?

A farmer has a bunch of eggs. If he puts them in boxes of 7, then there are 4 left over. If he puts them in boxes of 8 then there are 5 left over. If he puts them in boxes of 9 then there are 6 leftover. What is the smallest number of eggs he could have?

You never told us how many eggs he has in the first place.

He's got a different amount of eggs each time he tries to sort them (right?)

3.
in boxes of seven there are four spaces left. 7-4=3
In boxes of 8 there are 5 spaces left. 8-5=3
in boxes of 9 there are 6 spaces left. 9-6=3
