need help with installing a new stereo?

hi i have a 2002 chevy avalanche and i want to install a new head unit for my truck i have always wnated one so i bought one today and well i bought a harness aswell and well i connect it and the power works the cd will go in and out and play...but i dont hear no sound at all...it works when i connect my old factory stereo back on but not my new one why is this please help me

Well, Ill be damned, It sounds like a technical problem with the head unit! If the old one works but the new one wont, then the speakers are fine. Double check the connection with the new one, and if it still wont work, exchange it bro

if the new radio comes on then its with the speaker wires. check the wires connection in the harness. could have a factory amp to turn on the speakers....chevy=sometimes bose= factory amp sometimes
