need help with a clutch repair on honda?

my friend replaced his clutch cause it was all worn out but now we put it back together new flywheel and what not but now the caur doesnt go nuetral like you put it in neutral and the tires still spin lol all the gears go in with out using the clutch so any honda people out there help out please its a 96 civic any ideas on what could have happened i think he took out the transmission while it was in gear soo we really dont know
 
its not disengaging properly either cable or hydraulic slave cylinderout of adjustment,or not properly hooked up
