I live in England and everyday about an hour after sunset i see this object it seems to be the brightest object in the sky at that time some one told me it might be Venus.
If you are looking westward, that "someone" is correct. Enjoy it, this evening apparition of Venus is nearly at end. It won't be long before it appears too close to the sun in our sky to really be easliy visible. It will then "pass us" in its orbit, and appear as the brightest "star" in the east, just before sunrise for the rest of 2009.
