Hello. I am trying to get some ideas for books I could get my husband for Father's Day. He has read Terry Brooks novels, Stephen King, George R R Martin, just to name a few authors.

He likes mideval style fantasy and Sci-Fi. He also enjoys literature about vampires and other things that go bump in the night.

I'm not looking for stuff like Harry Potter or Twilight, but adult fiction but not erotica. So if anyone has read any good novels that would fall along these lines please make some suggestions and give me a brief synopsis of the books and what you enjoyed about them.

I would appreciate any suggestions.

The Sword of Truth series is an excellent fantasy series by Terry Goodkind. There is a popular TV series based (mildly) on it called "Legend of the Seeker".

The first book is "Wizard's First Rule", and I would recommend it to any fiction fan.

I would, as I would with any book, read a few pages in the library first.

books that are popular for scifi fans are

the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher (http://www.amazon.com/gp/series/83652/ref=pd_serl_books?ie=UTF8&edition=kindle_edition)

The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind (http://www.amazon.com/Sword-Truth-Boxed-Set-Books/dp/0812575601/ref=pd_ts_b_45?ie=UTF8&s=books)

Song of Ice and Fire Series by George R.R. Martin (http://www.amazon.com/gp/series/4/ref=pd_serl_books?ie=UTF8&edition=kindle_edition_)

the above links should give you synopsis, prices, and orders of book series. if youre not sure a good gift may be book 1 of each series if youre wary of buying all of one series. roughly about $20, a great budget for a decent gift any booklover would enjoy
