need help..SMS disappeared

I no longer have an SMS folder. It disappeared. The only way I'm able to view SMS messages is by going to an email folder and clicking View Folder, then SMS Inbox. I can't even send SMS from here. When I try to view the SMS Outbox, I'm kicked out of the folder and get a

"uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException"

dialog box. What's going on? Do I need to resend message service books? And if so, how?

You could try resending the service books but I wouldn't see that as a solution. Press and hold ALT and then press L G L G. Clear your event log and then do a restart on the device.
 
I can't even get into my event log! That sounds ridiculous but nothing happens when I do alt+LGLG. That's the first time that has happened to me

Have you installed any new software or themes right before this started? If not, I would recommend an OS reinstall.

Anything is possible but for the SMS listing to be completely removed from the Options panel, there is a bigger issue in my opinion but no reason not to exhaust all possibilities before spending the time doing an OS reinstall.
 
Aww that's not good. The last app I installed was the latest version of JiveTalk. I'm not sure the next time I'll have a net connection to download a different OS. Thanks a lot for your help.

Thanks for the suggestion. That was one of the first things I tried. The problem seems to be with solely the SMS client (or whatever) as I get the registration message instantly.

Is jive still on your BB? If so try uninstalling it and see if that resolves it. From helping you before I understand why re install is not an easy option. Kalebs so you know where we are at they only have PC access when visiting family. green_light a belated Merry Christmas and an early happy New Year to you.
