Need help picking phone (Verizon)

So I had the G1 on tmobile when it first came out and I loved it, but eventually I had to switch to verizon, My contract is up in November though so I'm looking to get another droid phone. I was wondering if anyone could point me to a list of phones that will be coming out in the following months on verizon and if the current list of phone on verizons site is the full list of current android phones available? Thanks

Also, is there any type of phone like the Evo4g available on verizon or coming? It's such an amazing looking device and I'd love a front facing camera.

At this vey moment verizon is lacking in the hardware department. T mobile has the nexus and vibrant. Sprint has the evo. Att has the captivate and iphone and verizon has the droid incredible, droid x and droid 2. The droid x is supposed to be verizons new flagship android device but I don't think its as good as any of the other carriers flagship phones. Also, no verizon android phones have a front facing camera. Despite what others may say, the droid incredible with its sense ui is the better choice for most. By november, other phones should leak so we can see what gonna come out for christmas

I agree completely but we all need to admit that its not quite as good as what other carriers have to offer. But it is ineed the best choice for verizon customers

honestly, what other phones would you think are better? and anyways, this thread is about verizon, so lets not bring up other carriers.

Id say the galaxy s line is better and same with the evo. But you're right. This is Verizon. The incredible is the best IMO despite that its internals aren't as good as the dx

well Verizon is getting the Galaxy S, but i still prefer the Incredible. Sense is great, and it's just like the evo, minus the HDMI out(which you will rarely use) and the front facing camera

And a better camera. Yeah I suppose it is very similar to the evo but the evo is just perfect. And id watch out for the sgs line because it has many cool things that I wish all android phones had.

Honestly, with a comment like that its hard to believe you're a mod for an android site. Unless you're referring to verizon only

Well I was talking about Verizon since the person who started the thread put Verizon in parentheses, but only one person here starts talking from their a$$, as usual, about phones thats not on his carrier. Back on topic.

Droid X is the best!

I have been through a few Android devices; first the G1, later moved on to the Droid, then the Incredible and now on to the Droid X- and I love the Droid X.

The Incredible is nice, but the Droid X screen is awesome- and the CPU is faster (they are both 1Ghz, but the OMAP seems to run s lot better than the SnapDragon).

Droid 2 should be out soon- but that is back to the 3.5" screen.

The front-facing screen on the EVO is nice, but who are you going to use this with? It is the same as the iPhone 4 setup- you can only talk to users with similar devices to utilize it (unless there is a version of Skype out for the EVO now?) In a few years this might be relevant, but now it is just a gimmick.

i think that the AMOLED screen on the Incredible is enough to sway anyway. colors look amazing. i held my phone up next to the X and the Evo they other day, and they don't compare. just like everyone says: the LCD looks washed out. It all comes down to your priorities. Bigger screen/smaller screen. is color important to you. try the X and the Incredible out. Personally, i think Sense is better than "Blur"

Sense and the amolead are great. Plus once 2.2 comes out on the dinc, the speed difference won't be as drastic. And the evo camera is great. Just waiting for a dev to make an app that'll allow people to chat with others one their desktops. Plus live streaming. And for those who do reviews on youtube you can use that. Whether or not you will use it, its a highly advertised feature on other phones there for it should have it

wait, doesn't Fring allow to talk with people on desktops? and streaming? you wanna stream live video to the internet? Qik. I use it all the time.

I've been out of the android game for awhile, I'm only used to the UI that the g1 had.

What are the differences between this blur and sense stuff? Are these the only UI's on verizons android phones? I'm guessing only motorolas have blur and the rest have sense??

Btw, thank you for all the responses

Blur is dog $#!+. Some people jumped the gun and bought a droid x thinking that because it was the newest that would make it the greatest but it falls short in many areas so you get all the droid x people trying to justify their purchase. Really the sense ui is htc's way of saying that android needed to be a bit more refined and organized. And it does just that. There's more than just an app drawer at the bottom unlike the g1. It has a phone icon, app drawer and an icon to add widgets, shortcuts, folders or apps to your home screens. It also comes with its own contacts, call log, dialer, and favorites app that makes it a bit easier to navigate through all your various items. Same goes for texting. The messaging app is very similar butg has its own little touch. The keyboard is ok on sense phones. I works the same as the stock android virtual keyboard but looks slightly sloppier imo. Overall sense makes android not so plain and gives you some really cool widgets that beat almost every widget you find in the market place. Only htc has sense but there's a couple running just plain android. Motorola used to do plain android AND blur but they're now only releasing devices with blur which is horrible imo. Blur just seems unfinished to me. Plus its not worth the delay in updates that its going to cause for future updates after froyo. Samsung has its touch wiz ui which I think is pretty awesome

i played with the Droid X, and Blur just made everything seem unorganized and very sloppy looking, where sense is very clean. love the way i don't have to go into the browser or app to get to facebook pics of friends

You don't? How do you look at their pics then? The incredible actually has a few features that other sense phones don't have. One being that you can set an individual pic for your lock screen
