Need help picking out a plasma TV.?

I would look for sale prices on Sony, Panasonic, Samsung, or Sanyo. I would also recommend a extended warranty. It appears that plasma TVs are now in limited production with manufacturers dropping their plasma activity in favor of LCD. The new LCD sets with LED backlighting appear to be the next industry leaders.
 
Need help picking out a plasma TV. I want 42" or larger and 1080p. What is the cheapest, but not junk?
