There are two villages, village A and village B. Village A contains only liars, they ALWAYS lie. Village B contains only people who tell the truth. There is a large forest between the two villages and you are lost in it, but then you see a person who could be from EITHER village A or B.You get to ask him only one question. You want to get to village B.
What do you ask him?

This is really annoying me, since I have heard it before. Yet I just can't think of the answer!
Anyone help me out?

Ask them, "How do I get to your village?"
if they are liars they will tell how to get to village A.
if they are truthful they will tell you how to get to village A

HAVE YOU EVER SEAN LABYRINTH RIDDLE IT WORKS THE SAME

The solution to the riddle: Sarah was allowed only one question of her two doorkeepers, one of whom always lied and one of whom always told the truth. The question she finally asked was: "Would he (she pointed at the other doorkeeper) tell me this door leads to the castle?"

If the door she was indicating was the wrong one and she was asking the lying doorkeeper, his answer would be yes - because he would lie. If she was asking the truthful doorkeeper, he too would answer yes - since the other doorkeeper would lie. In either case, the other door would be the correct one.

One of us will tell you true,
One will always lie.
Just one question is your due,
And only one reply.
One right answer gets you through,
Which door will you try?

If the door she was indicating was the right one and she was asking the lying doorkeeper, his answer would be no - because he would lie. If she was asking the truthful doorkeeper, he too would answer no, since the other doorkeeper would lie. In either case, this would be the correct door

Ask him this: "If I ask a person from the other village, ' which way is Village B?' , how will that person answer me?"

If the person that you met is from Village B who always tell the truth, he'll say that the other person will show you the wrong way. (Village A)

If the person that you met is from Village A, he'll also say that the other person will show the wrong way (Village A)

And so,it doesn't matter if the person you met is from Village A or B, whatever is his answer to your question, just ignore it and go the other way., which will surely lead you to Village B.
