So, I just got a Cricket phone...went to the store to activate it and they told me that I had to pay like 2 months worth of bills to have it turned on...wtf?

Isnt there some promotion that they have, if you start service up and already have a phone...you pay 15 bucks and get the first month free or something?
 
thats if you add a cricket (branded i guess) phone to your existing account... quoting the text message...

"Have an old Cricket phone sitting around? Add it to your account and your 1st month is free! blah blah blah..."
 
For that promotion to work of getting the first month free, you have to buy a phone from them in-store i believe.

The one Saunders241 is talking about is if you already have an account with them and you added another line.

When I opened my cricket account i had to pay first months and activation fee up front since i had a flashed phone....LOL
 
That particular deal is for someone that already has cricket service and wants to add another cricket phone. It doesn't matter what phone, just one that can be used on the Cricket service. For example, since I have a Cricket account, I can go and add someone to my account for $15 and get their first month of service free. However, if I was a new customer, then I would have to pay the first month of service plus the prorated amount for the rest of this month. I hope this helped you out a little bit.
