Need help in identifying clicking noise in 2005 Ford Expedition 4WD?

There is a click (pause) click-click (pause) click noise that seems to come from the front of the transmission in between the oil pan and the transmission pan. Is it possible that my clutch is slipping? The car seems to drive okay. It has 120K miles so far. This is a 2005 Ford Expedition V8 4WD (Eddie Bauer). Thanks.
The noise is heard while the truck is on idle and not moving. I am not sure it would be CV joint. I have not noticed any noise in the front assembly during drive.
 
well most offen you will hear and or feel it slip.. could it be a rock or sometime bent maybe or it could be a bad u joint they click so first id check your drive shafts
