I have a 2003 Cadillac Escalade at my shop. The customer said he was driving and said his temp guage pegged out and overheated. He pulled into a gas station and poured cold water into the engine and drove it to my shop. I went with the cheapest and easiest job first and changed the thermostat. It still overheated. Found the fan clutch bad so replaced that to, still over heating. Tested the rad for blockage and found none also found cooling system clean. Pulled the water pump off and found everything ok. Even tried taking the thermostat out of the housing so it would flow free and still over heated just sitting there in about 10 min. I think it is a head gasket at the least but the customer says it is impossible, the thing has over 100,000 miles on it and the coolant is full of air and boils every time u run it, it will get to about 230degrees before the radiator hoses heat up. What you guys think?
