Need help finding a film

I'm looking for the name of a film I watched about a year ago.

The film is about a storm of the future, due to the effects of global warning. Thats all I really remember about the plot, but a few key scenes I remember

  • A man is waiting at traffic lights and it starts raining either Fish or Frogs.
  • A woman crashes her car and walks with her son to the nearest gas station
  • 2 people (most likely the two above) meeting at a motorway underpass
  • I'm sure the city (most likely in West USA) gets destroyed by the storm
  • A boy goes to a building but didn't notice his baseball (or some other hobby) had been cancelled

I don't think its Magnolia (Thats what a google search came out with but it doesnt sound right).
Theres a chance this may have actually been a TV Drama rather than a movie, but I'm sure it was a film.
It may also have been in HD.
 
sounRAB like a sci fi channel rip off of day after tomorrow. probably called WEATHER FORCE!! or THE DAY IN 2 DAYS TIME

probably starring dean cain and erika eleniak and donald sutherland

or a Living channel version called the gay after tomorrow :-0
 
Gina Gershon, Randy Quaid, Shannen Doherty, Robert Wagner, James Brolin and Tom Skerrit. You were nearly right. Throw in Rob Lowe, Jami Gertz, Gary Busey, Bill Pulman, Bill Paxton, Molly Ringwald and Gary Sinise and you'd have the cast list of pretty much every low budget disaster made-for-TV-movie ever made.
