I'm a new motorcycle rider and was wondering what would be the best bike. Someone told me a 650R Ninja, but i want something more sporty. So could someone help me out.

I would look into buying at a Honda CBR 600 RR. They are really sporty and fast. They newer models have some nice colors and is a good size bike for your first. Also, the CBR's are one of the only sport bikes to have a fuel gauge so you know when your fuel is running low. I would also recommend since its your first bike to buy a used bike. Check out craigslist for listings in your area. Also, make sure you see the bike in person to make sure its not a scam!

Best for what, killing yourself? The 650R is only capable of 130-140 mph. A 600 race replica will take you over 160 mph, a 1000 will top 180 mph.

What are you looking for in a motorcycle -- near death experience, or the actual thing?

If you want a motorcycle for simply riding, a 250R will do just fine.

If you are already looking at the Kawasaki brand I would say look at the 6r. I am personally partial to the gsxrs. I started on a GSXR 600 :) I almost died more times then I can count but it was so much fun. Once I did learn to ride without endangering my life the GSXR 600 was more then enough for me. I also had powder coating and polishing done to make it really be one of a kind. Do not listen to people that say you can not learn on a 600 sport bike. I did and although it was dangerous I would not trade those for anything. Get what you want and do not listen to what people say. In a year I was able to drag my knee all day on my gsxr 600. I never put it down (luck on that one) and I did not die. A gsxr 750 would be the best bike you could get. You will never out grow it. It has more HP the 600 and the same weight. You would keep the gsxr 750 for years.
