So... ive descided to buy a crawdad (crayfish) but i no little about they're habbitats besides the fact that they live under rocks in lake shores and rivers, but i dont know how exactly they live in captive. i called my LFS and i talked to the lady their (whom ive known for several years and trust greatly) and she said with the fish i have its a "hit or miss" but my best bet, according to her, was to get 1 that is not bigger than my biggest fish or 1 smaller then my smaller fish but to buy 1 thats in the middle... hear are my specific focus questions:
1. what do they eat?
2. should i get a male or a female (or a transvestite?...JK)
3. where do they live?
4. should i use driftwood/stuff to climb on
5. what general setup is needed for crayfish, vegetation? shells?
6. do they shed their exoskeloten, if so are they vulnerable, do they hide?
7. Any other suggestions, in general?
