I'm 17, 5'5" and 130 lbs. A bit over-weight, but not much at all. I just lost 45 lbs. and now that I am in shape enough to finally learn a martial art, I want to throw myself into it as I have wanted to learn for a long time. I would also like the martial art I go with to get me in shape. I have 2 years exp. in Karate (hate it), and 1 yr. exp. in Kenpo (ok). I do know what I am looking for, kinda. I have no fear of contact at all, I play Football. I am small and like using that as an advantage: elbows, quick punches, that sort of stuff. I am looking for a practical martial art (street-viable), not a competition art or one with a large amount of kicking (TKD). I am quick and brutal, so something along the lines of Muy Tai comes to mind. I do not want something extremely formal like Karate or TKD, however I don't want something as informal as Boxing or Kickboxing. I personally hate katas, I prefer more practical lessons. I also need cheap, I can not afford a lot as I am a student out of work, so Krav Maga is out of the question. Thank you in advance, I appreciate it.
