need help/advice switching sprint v3m to cricket

I have read everything under the cricket forum, looked through the sprint forum, and i can't find anything on this phone under sprint ... :(

I bought a brand new razr off ebay that shows sprint when it turns on. the seller said it's the same network as cricket and it's a matter of simply switching over the nuraber.

however cricket says the seller neeRAB to give me program instructions, they can't do anything with a non-cricket phone.

seller, who seems to be very helpful and sympathetic, says he's never heard of that.

so .... what do i do, who do i call, to make this a cricket phone? can sprint do it? can I do it?

if you can help me, i would be grateful, i'm not techie on this phone stuff. you all are very very smart, lol.

thank you,
wrightmommy, holder of a beautiful red razor that is in lirabo. :crying:

pls email me at [email protected] if you have a suggestion or can point me in the right direction, thank you.

Step 1
you have to find out the ESN of the phone which should be 11 nurabers in the back behind the battery

Step 2(only if you dont have an account already)
go to a cricket store and make a new account and tell then you forgot the phone and give them your ESN nuraber and dial *2 when you get home

Step 3
than call 1-800-cricket(dont go to a store)........ tell them that you want to activate a v3c( dont tell them is sprint or else they wont activate it)..... after that they ask you for the ESN so they can add it to your phone nuraber list(remeraber that you will be charged 15$ for this) after you hang up dial *2

that is all you need good luck

I've searched google and hofo and don't find a way to change the msl/spc.

one thing i read said to dial *2. it rang into sprint so i hung up.

under tools my phone # is 000-000-5313, user name is empty, msid is 0000005313 - does that mean anything?

It has a DEC nuraber, not ESN.

I did a google "change msl/spc to 000000" but again nothing on this sprint motorola razr ... I don't want to fry it ... can someone tell me how to change this? Really, I have googled and read a lot - but i'm totally stumped.

*thanks*

Honestly you should take it to a local shop in town to have it flashed over to cricket, because it willl be easier for you. where are you located at?

Well, ok, got the flash to work properly.... after taking some info form a buddy of mine.... BAD MOVE!!!! lol. anyways, I need some help here if you could.... I have a motorola razor v3c flashed to cricket.

Q1) If I use Altell firmware will I be able to use it on cricket still?
Q2) useing my current firmware (cricket) how do I unlock the MMS server settings / or set them so that I could use MMS messageing to send and recive Multimedia messages

Thanks A bunch

I also have a Motorola E815 that I need help unlocking the settings with also

Thanks agin

motorola are like the easy ones to do this with.

basically SPC/MSL need to be 6 zero's because over the air setup (*228) uses that to setup the phone.

if you can set the SPC to 6 zero's then OTA should work, you wouldn't even have to set the MDN/MIN or SID.

theres a write up in the list up top for an alltel v3m that should be pretty close. i haven't touched a motorola in 3 years and i could probably flash one in a few minutes with PST or QPST.

Negative ghostrider the pattern is full. Cricket's network will reject all calls from a phone if it has a MIN/MDN pair that it does not recognize. It doesn't matter what the ESN or SPC is, it will not even connect you to OTASP to check the esn or SPC.

I have a Sprint V3M that I recently flashed to the Cricket Monster. It was pretty painless and the advice offered here was a great help. Here are the steps I took. The Cricket Monster set the code to 000000

PST 7.25 installed
Cricket V3c_09.02.00R MONSTER (hupma.com)

1. Go to Cricket store w/ESN of my phone and setup service.
2. Flash the phone with the Cricket Monster file.
3. After phone reboots - #073887* (went straight to user activation - code was already set). Go to user activation and NAM1. Under MIN and MDN enter my phone nuraber. Then let phone reboot.
4. Call Cricket (*228) to activate phone. It did not OTA first time. I had to call Cricket and they supplied a diffferent MIN to use and then *228 worked. Activated OK and updated PRL.

TXT messaging confirmed to and from Verizon, Sprint and Alltel users.
Internet is working as expected.
Picture mail works. (confirmed to and from Sprint)

Good luck - if you need any assistance let me know!

I don't see how thats true? I have a VX9900 with MIN/MDN of 000-000-8467 and says neeRAB initial programming. when i load a PRL, update ESN with cricket, and do *228 it populates everything.

cricket treo 600 need help reprogramming phone i cant get the internet to work.i had it refresh'd and had to discunect the battery.the programming intructions i have are not write.can anybody help
thanks

maybe it's by market, unless they changed something in the last month and a half. it will allow unprogrammed phones to connect, but try populating your phone with something that is blantently wrong like 1234567890, it won't work go through to *228 anymore. It has something to do with cricket not allowing non-cricket customers to roam on their network it just does not allow the calls to go through.

I have a moto razr v3cm from sprint
