This is going to sound crazy buy close your legs when you ride. The air is traveling up your legs when you ride with them spread out.....or you could always drive a car! hahaha!

Try riding your bike without the 4" windscreen as a test. You'll probably get so much air over the top of the fairing that you won't have the puffed shirt you described. If that works, and you want the windscreen, consider cutting it down.

My suggestion is based on a recent ride when I was running late, had the outer fairing off the bike, and reinstalled it without putting the 8" windshield back on the bike. Lots of air over the front of the bike hitting my face and chest--felt good since the temps were in the low 90's.

This is pretty much right. I have everything but the fork deflectors and the lowers, i don't like the way they look. Got used to tucking in my shirt. I wear a bandana and sunglasses with no problems but i have an 8" recurve. The wind coming from below doesn't seem that bad to me now. I don't know whether the mods helped or I just got used to it. I smoke a cigar when I ride some with no problems.

I had the same complaint. Even though the 4 in shield looks sweet it dont block nothing. Went with a freedom shield that has the recurve. That helped alot but not with underneath stuff. Just installed the side fork deflectors but powder coated em black. They blend really well and now I can put my legs out on my highway pegs at 70 with no problem. Hope that helps. By the way Jim at Fastaire is a smart cat. Call him and pick his brain about this stuff. Thats what I did and thats how I fixed it

Same annoyance for me. The air is coming from below, up and around the gas tank. I am on my third windscreen, but haven't messed with fork deflectors or other devices.

I do have those frame heat shields (heat deflectors) that mount under my seat. But these don't stop the up-draft.

I just finished a 4k (10 day) run to Sturgis and back, and had lots of time to mess with air flow. My leg positions did change things up, but did not cure the breeze. I was mostly interstate cruising and maintained a quick pace with two other buddies. Quite often we were hammered-down at 80-85mph trying to knock the boredom out of Missouri and later, Nebraska.

I too, noticed a lot of up-draft crossing my ears and my straps for my half-helmet. All of it traced to down beside my gas tank.

I haven't found a good solution; but remain grateful that I am enjoying my Harley, and simply accept that it is what it is.

Nothing is going to rid you of the air coming from underneath the bat wing, Lowers, lower tree, bottom of fairing deflecters will only channel the air into a smaller area, shot it around the tank and up your face and a windshield won't do squat. Welcome to the world of batwing.

I can tell you that is not true. I have factory HD vented lowers and I still get a tremendous amount of updraft. So much so that I have to sit on my shirt tails to keep them from making me look fatter than I already am! It's really kind of ridiculous. I'm sure I can get it to the point where most of it would go away by adding all that crap, but then my bike would look like an Ultra. Those fork mounted deflectors look like they would work, but they are fugly as hell!

Really, it's a choice.

Look good- deal with the wind

Get rid of wind- HELLO ultra
