Need for speed, which game?

What is the best Need for speed game?

I'm debating with
- Need For speed Shift
- Need For speed undercover.

I'm sorta a fan of those games were you can get stock cars, and upgrade it and street race. But after watching the shift gameplay, its wanting me to give those kind of games a chance. I had need for speed most wanted, but it wasn't that fun, so im hoping undercover isnt as disappointing like it.

I'm open for suggestions as well.
 
I think shift is a very good game, I rented it and it's pretty fun. I don't like Shirt or Undercover all that much though compared to Underground 1 & 2.
