I joined this forum last week and started a thread about percocet addiction. Some of you jumped on and really were supportive and I appreciate the kind worRAB. I went to the Doctor yesterday and was put on Subxone and were given a prescription of 34 8mg tablets. My prescription calls for 16 mg a day (2 pills split in half 4 times a day.) So, yesterday when I got home at 4 pm I took one half of an 8 mg (4mg) and felt NOTHING after an hour. No relief, zero. I then took the other half (now equaling 8mg total in one hour) and felt AMAZING! I swear, I never felt so good about anything in my life. I got alittle jumpy but besides that my cravings were gone for the percocet and overall I felt happy and so good about what I was doing and then...........
A TOTAL NIGHTMARE!
Around 8pm I started getting extremely nauseous and remained that way the entire night. I didn't have any sweats or chills, but felt sick enough to the point where I knew at some point I would vomit. I laid in my bed until 1 AM WIDE AWAKE and finally around 1 am started throwing up. It was pretty gross, obviously. Anyway, after that I finally got some sleep and immediately called the Doctor the minute I woke up. I mentioned to him that I got sick and he asked me if it was working as far as the withdrawals from the percocet was concerned and I said yes. He said to take another 4 mg and see how I did this morning. I took another 4 mg and threw up AGAIN an hour after the dose. I put another call into the Doctor and this time he got back to me around 2 pm and he asked me again if the withdrawals were gone and I said yes. This time, he sounded a little more concerned about the side effects (me throwing up, etc) so he called in a prescription for anti-nausea medicine known as compazine and said take it 15 minutes before my next dose and see what happens. Well, around 4 pm I took my second dose (4mg) and promptly an hour later I threw up again. I can't continue to do this. The problem is that the medicine IS WORKING though as far as withdrawals are concerned but the side effects are AWFUL. I am seeing him tomorrow anyway for my second appointment and have ot bring my chart and medicine in anyway and he told me he is probably going to put me on SUBUTEX which is different from the suboxone because it doesn't contain the naloxen in it. I've been doing some research and apparently the naloxen is what's most likely making me sick and the reason why most docs write the suboxen is so that injection is avoided because injecting the naloxen would be toxic. I think by now he knows I am not looking to do that and that I just want to get better and not be sick doing it.
SO......
Will this switch to subutex control the nausea and is the naloxen most likely what is making m sick? I certainly hope so because I can't deal with this. It's so bad and to be honest, the compazine probably isn't working because I probably threw that up too.
Thanks. Feedback would be great
