NEED COOKING HELP ASAP!?

Im cooking right now and im cooking beef (chuncks that are made for stew-thats what it says on the package) and marinated it for like 2hrs then put it in Pan with onions and peppers and the marinade. I thought that by marinating and letting it cook slow..(been cooking for ike an hour now) it would be tender but its now...still chewy..yuck! Is there any way to save it? or cook it another way where we can still eat it? did i overcook it?
As you can tell, I normally dont cook meat just chicken so this is new for me.
