Need Contemporary Plays for Acting Class?

I need help in narrowing down choices for plays. Actors are male and female, both in their late 20s. We need to decide on a scene and for now the focus is on scenes from plays and not so much screen play / movie scenes. I understand that there are hundreds of contemporary plays out there, so I'd appreciate some help in narrowing down the selection. Preferably anything from the 1980s to recent time.
