Hi, I am buying my wife a game for the PC for Christmas. Problem is I don't know what game to get her. Her criteria is this. Basically she is looking for a civilization-builder type game that doesn't have too much (or any) emphasis on warfare. She's not into the warfare aspect as she feels it is too fast paced, and she would rather sit back and have time to think and enjoy the building aspects of the game.
She is interested in Civilization IV but we are both worried that it will be too complicated for her to figure out and enjoy, not that she isn't smart enough but it seems pretty complicated just from looking at reviews. She tends to be over analytical and if something is super complicated it will end up just frustrating her and she will lose interest. I've also thought of getting one of the Sim City series of games, but I don't think the modern urban city really appeals to her much.
If there is no game like this, I think she would also be open to an RPG like Morrowind/Oblivion as she really liked those games when I got them for her. I think she especially liked the open-ended aspect of the Morrowind/Oblivion series.
Please feel free to leave any and all suggestions. I want to find her the perfect game and I will be very grateful for your help, thanks a lot.
Well she already has played Oblivion and Morrowind extensively and loves them. The type of combat I was referring to was RTS style (Warcraft 3 etc) combat or first person shooter type.
The oblivion style combat was fine for her.
As for the Pirates game, I think she might like that.
Fallout 3, although probably a great game, not so much.
