Need citizenship/financial aid help????

i'm attending college, this is my first year and i get financial aid. the thing is that i need to renew my green card next year and i've been thinking that it would be better if i appply for citizenship. my question is it it would it affect my eligibility for next year to get financial aid if i apply for citizenship now since they might think that i will use the money they give me for this???????? please help
