Looking for something along the lines of:

150-200 minutes a month
Call display, and voicemail
Send 600-800 texts a month

I will need a new phone as well but will be going with something basic.

Can anyone suggest something whether it be monthly or prepaid?

What's out there?

If you go with Telus there are 3 plans for ya that I can recommend (Yes I linked AB but double check the stuff on ON cause I'm not sure if they change it for ON ... like Sask.):

Talk A Lot 40: http://www.telusmobility.com/ab/plans/pcs/supertalk40.shtml
Add on Spark 15 (Unlimited text/pic/vid msg, voicemail 10, CID)

If you call 5 "other than telus" numbers:

check out the 30 if not the 40. If you really only call 5 numbers, you could go for the 25, add the Spark 15 on and you should be set.

If people call YOU a lot:

One of these, depending on how much you call out, pick one that you think will do you for now, but don't go too low Better to pay more now than go low and have a massive phone bill in a month Add Spark 15 and you're done.

If you need a Long Distance Plan though, Talk Canada 30 would be my guess. Add Spark 15, you can also get Unlimited National Nights and Weekends with that for extra and limit your calls to evening... it really does depend on your calling habits or what you forsee it being...

Thanks for the suggestions Kardall. Trying to read through the various plans for different companies is overwhelming.

I'd say the call 5 "other than telus" numbers at the $25 level would be best from what you have posted.

If Virgin had better text messaging packages then I could go there.
