I'm thinking about showing the movie 2012 to my Spanish class while I'm gone Friday and Monday and have a sub. I would of course talk about the Mayan origin of the theory either tomorrow before I leave (if there's time) or leave a handout or something about it for the sub to discuss with the kids before watching it. Any thoughts on this one? There are a few cuss words in the movie- its rated PG-13 for disaster scenes and some language. Kids are sophomores, juniors, and seniors- 16, 17, and 18 years old. Am I covered by the rating being that my students are all older than that? I have time to hand out permission slips tomorrow, but of course I won't be there on Friday to collect them and any student that is not in class tomorrow won't get the permission slip in time.
