A uniform steel beam has a mass of 850 kg. On it is resting half of an identical beam on the left. They are supported by 2 legs on each side. What is the vertical support force at each end?
A shop sign weighing 235 N is supported by a uniform 145 N beam. The beam measures 1.70 m and it is connected to a hinge on a wall. The wire supports the beam and from the hinge to the spot where the wire is measures 1.35 m. The wire makes an angle of 35 degress from the beam. Find the tension in the guy wire.
a) Find the horizontal and vertical forces exerted by the hinge on the beam.
If you can't figure out the second ques. its ok, i described it as much as possible but this is how it should look like (of course with the measurements):
