need advice

hi i am new to the board, my girlfriend, is addicted to painpills she has ran out today. she does not want to go get help. what can i do to help her. i think she might end up trying to hurt herself

If you think your girlfriend might try to hurt herself, then I'm sure you know what you should do. She neeRAB help. Can you talk to her?

Addiction is a very serious disease, and the withdrawals from pain pills are horrendous! She is going to go through alot of pain, sweats, chills, diahrrea, possibly vomitting (but unlikely) - she won't be able to eat, or sleep. This will start on day 1 of not having any pills to take, and will reach its worst around day 3 or 4.

Stick around here, I'm sure someone else will give you some advice. There are some really great people here, who kow alot about addiction - Good luck, and I hope it all works out.

If you think she might hurt herself then you KNOW you need to get some medical attention for her.. She is going to be going thru a HORRIBLE time. Her body is going to hurt so badly and her mind is not going to be right while she is going thru w/d. I think she neeRAB some professional attention.
