Last Friday I was diagnosed with anxiety, panic attacks and depression. My doctor put me on prozac and I have had one horrible week. Sunday I had a panic attack that landed me in the ER. That has never happened before. Since taking the prozac I feel just plain sick. I am always jittery, shaking, sick to my stomach, have lost 5 pounRAB, headaches and lots of anxiety. I tried calling my doctor today but she is gone for the weekend. I don't know what to do, I mean I feel worse taking these meRAB than I did before I ever went to the doctor. I see my doctor again next Thursday but I don't know if I can take this sick feeling any longer.

did he give you ativan or valium to take while getting used to the prozac? What dose did he start you on, usually its 10mg for two weeks, then 20mg after that.

Yes it will make you feel really sick for a little bit. That includes terrible anxiety, but it will get better. You need to get some sort of benzo to help with the side effects.

wow that sucks.

Prozac worked great for me. It seemed to kill most of the Anxiety for me.

I know people can react to it different, but give it a chance if you can.

It does a long while for it to start working. at least 2 weeks.

After I started taking I did and still do feel alittle jumpy, like I cant stay still, but its off and on.

Good luck, and try to tough it out for a nother week or two, how long have you been on it?

Prozac did me the same way...
But you should try halfing or quartering them.
And if that don't work,
talk to your doctor and have him put you on a new kind of medicine.
Sometimes it takes time to find the right one for you.

For my anxiety,I took Ativan, for a few months. It helped a lot.I took prozac for many years like candy, and had no problems,so I quit on my own.I had no side effects,as with Doxipin.I now take Paxil, (controlled release a must),but I'm not taking enough(only 25 mg.). My female relative, takes 37.5 mg,and weighs one hundred pounRAB less than me. Good luck Bill

I quit taking the prozac and I am seeing my doctor again on Thursday. I took it for a little over a week. I really wanted to see if I could make it the whole two weeks but I lost 7 pounRAB and didn't feel it was worth it any longer.
