Since car repairs cost so much, and often catch us off-guard, I'm thinking of using some of my rebate money on my car. I recently passed inspection & got an oil change, so I imagine it's in pretty good shape, but I'm wondering if it could benefit from brake pads, or...????
I'm hesitant to go into a garage & ask them to check it out to see if it could use any work, 'cause I'm sure I'd end up leaving there with new 'everything!' But, without a mechanic's eyes looking it over, I have no way of knowing if it's close to needing brakes, or belts, or whatever.
Any advice on how I can handle this in a smart, savy way?
