Need Advice For Buying First Laptop?

So it's my first time buying a laptop, and there were a couple of brands i was interested in, such as Dell, HP, Toshiba, and Sony. So my question(s) are:

1. Any other good brands someone can tell me about?
2. What's a System RAM?
3. What's a Processor Brand?
4. What's a really good hard drive size for a 14"- 15" screen size?
5. What's a good price for a 14"- 15" laptop.

BTW, this is totally out of the blue, but what' the difference between a Mac and a PC (I'm not tech-savy)
