I want to give my 85 year old grandmother a GSM cell phone for occasional use. She doesn't speak English. I have used a Motorola L6, Nokia 6010, and Samsung T209. I'm going with a prepaid plan. So far none have really seemed to be ideal.
What I would like:
- GSM phone for U.S. usage.
- Flip phone - easy to understand how to end call
- Good display - Samsung T209 has very large fonts on its display
- Loud speaker - grandmother is hard of hearing
- Large, easy to push buttons. Motorola L6 and Nokia 6010 are difficult for her to press
- Well lit buttons - Blue backlighting is too hard to read, making numbers difficult to distinguish
- Easily accessible charge port - would prefer not to have doors covering the charge port
- Speed dialing - almost every phone seems to have this though
Any other suggestions as to good, simple features for an elderly person? Any phones fit these criteria?
I saw a similar thread like this earlier, but now I can't find it.
