Need a phone for mobile internet!

I've not been keeping up with the cell phone scene for almost 4 years now, and I'm a bit lost.

I used to have two Sprint phones on a family plan with unlimited Vision service. I paid about $100-$120 TOTAL for both these phones monthly, and had the smallest minutes plan available at the time. I had unlimited sprint to sprint calling, unlimited txt messages, unlimited picture messages, and both phones could be hooked up to a laptop with a USB cable to get some reasonably speedy mobile internet by dialing *777 or something like that.

I need this exact same service today, from someone other than sprint if possible (jerks sold me a regional plan and told me it was national, resulting in an $800 bill), and I need to know what phones (need 2) and plan to order. I don't use the internet that much, so if there is a cap on the throughput monthly, that's fine as long as it's 1 gig or more.

First pick the carrier so you don't have the same problem again. You need to do some research and check the coverage maps for where you will use the phone - where you live, work, travel, etc. Talk to family, friends, neighbors and coworkers about who they have for cell service and how the coverage is and the service too. Once you pick the carrier, then start looking for a phone and a plan.

Tell us where you live too. That would help.

Also, did you change your plan to a national calling plan and unlimited data? That should help improve your attitude.
