Need a firmware upgrade on a 7610/ I do not want to deal with stores.

hi all,

I was wondering if someone in toronto is able to do a firmware upgrade on my Nokia 7610A. The existing firmware code is:

V 4.0421.4
22-05-04
RH-51

I DO NOT WANT TO DEAL WITH ANY STORES. They're simply all ............ and would rather have my money go to someone more friendly and worthy and I know people have purchased the equipment to do these kind of services. The stores simply have too many customers to give a ..... about anything.

Why do we have to deal with stores. Is there anyone other than stores who can do this.

I see a mad monopoly on this website with regards to mobile services.

I will pay anyone to do the upgrade but no businesses.
 
I think businesses are the only ones who do it. The firmware flashing equipment (to the best of my knowledge) is too expensive for a person just to have laying around the house.
 
There should probably be a way may be not safe. But if no one wants to speak of, then suspect some dirty business lying under.

Many phone firmware can be upgraded with data cables.

Why shouldn't I be able to upgrade my phone at home if I am willing to take the risks.


Even now Nokia supports it via web for certain models.
It doesn't end warranty either.

Also it is a shame for Nokia for supporting update for only some models. I am fed up with the logic of renewing phones on yearly basis.

Nokia has become the M$ of the phone industry. I hope they go down real quick.
 
that person is just dreaming...with the n95, n75, n91 8 gb and all those me phones, nokia wont be going down for a LONG time~

Do you mean Nokia isn't the M$ of the industry or the contrary?

AFAIK Nokia has 60% market share.

They are becoming monopol in my opinion and that makes it hard to compete against them.

And that means worse phones for higher prices.
