I have had neck, shoulder and arm pain for a year and 1/2, I have tried (from PT to accupunture), nothing has helped. Some days I feels fine, however others it is bothersome. I used to be very active, but I had to stop. Is this condition chronic? If so, can I just go back to the gym? Thank you in advance for your time and response!

You may want to check out the Spinal Cord Disorders forum - that's where most of the discussion about cervical spine and upper back problems are. Many of the symptoms you talk about can be indicative of a problem in the cervical spine. My cervical problem manifested itself in nerve pain into my left shoulder and down my left arm. Turns out I had a disc problem at C5-C6 and C6-C7.

You may want to see your doctor to discuss the symptoms. Sometimes doctors tend to think it's a shoulder disorder when it actually can be a cervical spine issue. If you read some of the discussions on the Spinal Cord Disorders board you may find similar symptoms.
