I was detected with thyroid nodule incidentally while conducting MRI scan. This was done to see if I had any problem in my spine & neck. I met an Orthopedic Surgeon for my neck pain. My X-ray report said that there is block vertebra in C6 & C7.

My MRI report says Posterior central disc-osteophytic complex at C4-5 & C5-6producing mild impression on thecal sac. No focal root compression. Congenital block vertebra at C6-C7.
I was given some tablets & physiotherapy treatment for 10days. I feel better now since my neck pain has reduced. But it recurres again if I don't rest properly.

My Orthopedic surgeon said, that neck pain might have triggerred due to thyroid. Is that possible? Should I see some other Orthopedic surgeon also?
Pl help. Thanks in advance.

Second opinions are always a good idea. Our spines are so sensitive to the slightest thing, it is very possible the thyroid nodule moved your spine or put pressure on it and caused pain. Are you seeing someone about the nodule? Find out their opinion.

Thank you so much for your kind reply. Am seeing an endocrinologist regarding this thyroid nodule. Again am planning to take a second opinion here. Coz even after finding a nodule as big as 4.0X1.9 cms, am not under any treatment & also not been advised to go for surgery. Rather asked to wait for 6 months to repeat few tests!!! Lets see, am trying to figure out some good endocrinologists in my place. Will keep you posted regarding any further developments.
Thanks again.
