Neck adjustment/problems, redness in skin, medicated feeling and weakness

I have been having neck problems for a while. Last week while adjusting like I always have to do to relieve pressure in the nape of my neck, I started feeling weak, felt "medicated" throughout my body, was warm when sleeping and when I took the sheets off had chills. I also felt tingly. I felt dehydrated and continued to drink a lot of water. Face felt tight and skin had a burning sensation. The only weird thing was that I felt discomfort in my lower abdomen as well. This happened for a couple days before I went in to the doctor who ran blood tests, which all came back normal he said. I have the results online if needed. The only things I can think of is the adjusting which I did a lot of before I experienced all this. I also noticed the little lymph bumps and had pushed into them when adjusting. Could this be the cause? I saw a question on here refering to Thyroid issues and the symptoms were similar. Any help would be appreciated. Still experiencing the symptoms, but less than at first.

When you talk about "adjusting" are you referring to what a chiropractor does or something you are doing yourself? There are 2 very important arteries running up the sides of your neck vertebrae(vertebral arteries) and if in adjusting your own neck you compressed them, you could have caused a small stroke or TIA or stopped the O2 to your brain long enough to cause you to feel faint. Having had 2 major cervical spine surgeries, I wouldn't even advise anyone to let a chiropractor touch my neck. They have caused many a stroke.

If this sensation keeps up, I'd go see someone who specializes in spines such as an orthopedist who is a spine doc. They can at least get some tests done to see if you hurt some part of your cervical spine.

In the meantime, stay away from your neck. If by any chance you have something like cervical stenosis(narrowing of the spinal canal)even looking up at the sky can cause a sudden and catastrophic paralysis. If your symptoms go away, then just watch for any return. If they stay, get it checked. Take it from someone who just fought her way back from partial paralysis from a neck problem I never knew I had until it was almost too late. Don't mess with your neck!

good luck...........Jenny
