Nearly every stereo I have looked at has an output to supply 4 speakers so how could I

You CANT. The four speaker outputs on a head unit are for SPEAKERS ONLY. You cant run 6 because the head unit cannot handle that load.

You absolutely need a seperate amp for subwoofers.

add 2 subwoofers? I know it probably sounds stupid but how can you run 6 speakers off a stereo that only has 4 outputs???
