Naughty yearling, very spooky, what do we do?

My Grandpa has a yearling that is very spooky and the only person she will let near her is my Grandpa. It takes him at minimum 30 minutes to get a halter on her. That is strange because my Grandpas colts are always halter broke very early. She runs around like mad and stirs up the other horses. She rears and bucks and kicks when she is not getting her way. If you put her in a round pen by herself, she will jump the fence to get back to the herd. My Grandpa has longed her until she looked like she would drop (figuratively) and when he got close to try to lead her she would go bananas again. Like I said, the only person she had ever let near her was my Grandpa. Until I came along. The first (and only) time I saw her she started following me around wanting me to pet her. My Grandpa was astounded and wants me to try to get her going on ground work. What are your tips for getting her to calm down and learn that I am the boss?

My Grandpa has over 40 years of breeding and training experience. His colts are in high demand in this area (and others) because of how well behaved they are. A colt that he has a hard time with is a very rare occurance. There is no other trainer with as much natural experience. If your only advice is to hire another trainer, than please do not post on here. We are looking for ways to build trust with this yearling and to gain her confidence. To everyone else: Thanks for your input, we appreciate it.
