Natural tanning with previous history of cancer?

I'm a twenty-one year old woman with two incidents of Melanoma (skin cancer) in the past six years. I usually burn easily so I've been wearing - on my doctor's recommendation - SPF 50 sunscreen to prevent another occurrence of cancer. One day that I forgot my sunscreen - I got a notable tan on my shoulders. Before, I had never been able to tan - only burn.

Is there a way to tan naturally (no tanning beds) and evenly without risking another bout with cancer? How easy can Melanoma be contracted?

I would recommend a self tanner. Thats the only safe way to get a tan. Its fast, easy and gives you a great tan.

Are you nuts? Give your skin a break. :(

I don't know alot about it but I believe it's the burning that causes cancer. Perhaps short bouts of 10 minutes a day outside wouldn't be too harmful? The thing is too, I've seen a lot of info lately about women not getting enough Vitamin D which comes from the sun.

Have you thought about a spray tan? I don't know anything about how well they work or if they look natural, but perhaps it's worth looking into.

try a spray tan. or a baby`s sunblock.
but if you have skin cancer, you probably shouldn`t do again what caused the cancer in the first place.
go with spray tans or lotions.
