Hi everyone,

Just curious if anyone has any tips or success stories in regarRAB to using herbal and alternative supplements, either alone or along with prescription meRAB to help alleviate GAD/PD?

I've seen a lot about Valerian, St. John's Wort, Passionflower, Chamomile, and others like Deplin, L-Theanine, 5-HTP, etc... Has anybody had some bona fide success with these or others?

Always interested to see what is out there..

Thanks
Victoria

Homeopathic Nervousness by Nature's Sunshine is by far a better choice, use it when needed, as needed, it works that quick!

My mother in law actually just gave me a supplement that is all natural and it's called Nutri-Calm by Nature's Sunshine. I typically don't use herbal supplements, but I took the bottle to my family doctor to look at and he said that it was perfectly fine to take. You can do a Google search for reviews on the product if you want. It got great reviews and a girlfriend of mine who is really into natural products said that it sounded like it would be a great think to take. I haven't started it yet because part of my anxiety is taking medication, natural or not, but I plan to give it a try soon if I can convince myself that it's going to be helpful. Let me know what you think of it. :)

That's right, wackytoposthere! Homeopathic medicines are wonderful. Thanks for adding that. I would like to add another one since you made me think of it! Rescue Remedy by Bach, which is homeopathic as well.

Thanks for the feedback Pausa, I will look into that particular item. Appreciate the suggestion. :)

Hi there Victoria! I used a great supplement given to me by my naturapath for adrenal exhaustion due to anxiety. It's called Adaptocrine made by Apex Energetics. Wonderful stuff!!!

Cool! another option! Thanks so much care berry and wackytoposthere!!! This is great, I'm so glad I've found a place to ask these kind of questions! Thanks again to all!

Also herbal teas are good - chamomile, Dr Stuarts Tranquility, valerian - nice to sip and really help calm the nerves. You can also check out aromatherapy oils to go in the bath - and try Bachs rescue remedy - a few drops on the tongue work when you have a panic attack.

St Johns Wort is a good herb to try - its nature's prozac, but also effective for anxiety. Unfortunately you have to take it for a few weeks before it takes effect, and personally i always forget my daily dose!

Anyway, lots to try, best of luck
